Delaware General Assembly considers helping teachers pay down student loans

The Delaware General Assembly is considering a bill to establish the High Needs Educator Student Loan Payment Program which would allow the state to make loan payments for teachers of up to $10,000 to encourage teachers to stay at high-needs schools with significant job turnover rates.

Senior administrator for DDC and CDS advisor, Pat Maichle shared that the oral history highlights the mistreatment of people with disabilities, specifically in institutions.

At the Multiple Sclerosis (MS) Shore Group’s monthly meeting, one of the Center for Disabilities Studies’ AT specialists, Dan Fendler, informed members of the latest information and equipment to increase ease of living with multiple sclerosis. The current technology includes XO Skeleton devices to assist with standing and lifting.
