At the LIFE Conference, CDS staff presented on education, policy and independent living, while CDS advisors were honored for their advocacy.

President Trump signed into law a bill creating a national advisory committee focused on disaster planning for those with disabilities. Comprised of government officials, health care professionals and people with disabilities, the committee will review federal policies and make recommendations to ensure people with disabilities are properly factored in disaster planning.

More than 300 law enforcement and emergency services personnel helped raise funds for Special Olympics Delaware in the third annual Delaware Memorial Bridge Run To Acceptance. The 5K run/walk brought in more than $35,000 in contributions.

The Delaware Housing Assistance Program, administered by the Delaware State Housing Authority (DSHA), is providing emergency housing assistance to renters whose income stream has been affected by the COVID-19 pandemic. Households are eligible for as much as $1,500 in payments. Application information is available on the state coronavirus website and the DSHA website.
