LEND trainee – family member

Posted July 27, 2020 2:30 pm

Are you related to a child or youth with a developmental disability?

Would you like to learn more about educational and health system practices, share about your lived experience, strengthen your leadership skills and build a network of professionals who practice family-centered care?

Apply to be a trainee in the University of Delaware’s Leadership Education in Neurodevelopmental and Related Disabilities (LEND) program.

The LEND program aims to build greater expertise and stronger leadership among self-advocates with developmental disabilities, family members and current and future professionals in the fields of health care and education.

As a LEND trainee, you will learn from experts in the field by participating in expert-led seminars, take part in individual mentoring sessions, observe professionals in the field, and complete a leadership project. You will also spend time with another family with a child who has a developmental disability to learn about their everyday life.

LEND training requires a minimum of 400 hours and will take place from September 2022 through August 2023. Trainees receive an $11,000 stipend for participating.

The deadline for application is May 14, 2022.

To apply, download and complete the LEND Family Member Trainee application, then email it to Stephanie Kaznica at skaznica@udel.edu.

If you have any questions, please send an email to Stephanie Kaznica at skaznica@udel.edu. To learn more about the program, visit the UD LEND webpage.
