Self-driving shuttle bus will be tested at STAR Campus

The University of Delaware and DelDOT will begin testing and utilizing a driverless shuttle on the STAR Campus by spring 2019, officials said. Above, the Arma, a driverless electric shuttle manufactured by French firm NAVYA, was introduced to the University of Michigan campus. It is the first college campus to use this technology.

The Delaware Transit Corporation plans to buy a self-driving bus in the spring of 2019. The bus, which is fully ADA-compliant, will be tested around UD's STAR campus. Should the UD-run tests prove positive, the bus may start running routes in Newark.
