Fourth Circuit first to rule gender dysphoria a protected disability

A federal appeals court has ruled that protections granted by the ADA will extend to cover transgender people as a class. The ruling comes in a suit by Kesha Williams, a transgender woman, who was held in a men’s prison facility.
