John S. Charlton School

Charlton School serves students throughout Kent County ages two to twenty-one, challenged by autism and moderate to severe and profound cognitive and physical disabilities. Students have access to the same curriculum, with modifications, as the students throughout Caesar Rodney School District.

Students are located at the onsite Charlton building and at seven schools in Caesar Rodney School District: Frear, Stokes, Star Hill, and Welch Elementary Schools, Fifer and Dover Air Force Base Middle Schools, and Caesar Rodney High School.

In addition, Charlton supports college age students attending the Wesley College Transition Partnership Project and the Delaware State University Transition Partnership Project. These Projects offer our off site college age students the opportunity to prepare for their adult lives by honing their employment and life skills.
