Blue Hens open basketball season teamed with boy battling Sickle Cell Disease

Eli Larts runs onto the Carpenter Center Court with Ebby Asamoah during Delaware basketball's Hoopla preseason basketball gathering.

Eli Larts, a sixth-grader from Newark, was connected to the UD men’s basketball team through TEAM Impact, a national non-profit organization that connects children with illness or disability to college teams. Larts will visit the team during practices and will attend games and community events.
